HISTORY

A JOURNEY OF MORE THAN 70 YEARS

 

What is CNA Group? 

CNA Group is comprised of four brands: CATA, EDESA, NODOR, and APELSON. These are Spanish brands with a long tradition, historic pioneers in the manufacturing of each of their flagship products.

 

THE ORIGIN OF A MULTINATIONAL

Within the group, the company Cata, headquartered in the province of Barcelona, began its industrial activity in 1947 with the manufacturing of coffee grinders and other small appliances. It started as a family workshop that gradually redirected its activity towards the domestic extraction segment.
In 1988, there was a change in the company's direction, and Mr. Jorge Parladé de Elía joined the general management, who continues to be part of the organization's driving force as President-CEO.
In 1993, the production of extractor hoods began at the facilities in Torelló, while preparations were underway at the manufacturing facilities in China, inaugurated in 1997.
Since its inception, CNA Group has grown and strengthened its market position, achieving its current leadership in the Spanish domestic extraction market and becoming a benchmark in the international market within its sector.

INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION

Internationalization is the foundation of our business, both in sourcing materials and in seeking technology. The relocation of production and manufacturing updates according to macroeconomic events is the result of maintaining constant efficiency and production capacity. We manufacture on three continents, source raw materials from numerous countries, and sell our products in over 100 countries.

Barcelona, August 2025 – CNA Group, parent company of the renowned Spanish brands Cata, Edesa, and Nodor, has announced the appointment of Santiago Torent as its new Executive Chairman. This strategic move marks the beginning of a new phase of expansion, modernization, and international growth for the company.

After more than three decades of leadership, Jorge Parladé de Elía will step down from his executive role, while continuing to contribute to the Group’s corporate governance and strategic direction, supporting a smooth transition in business management.
