Celler de Can Roca, world's best restaurant

The prestigious British magazine RESTAURANT, which publishes the S. Pellegrino ranking of the 50 best restaurants in the world every year, has named El Celler de Can Roca, run by the brothers Joan, Josep and Jordi Roca, as the best restaurant in the world.

With this award, El Celler de Can Roca reaches the peak of world cuisine. In 2011,  2012 and 2014, the perfect combination of jobs well done by the three Roca brothers – Joan, Josep and Jordi – placed El Celler de Can Roca as second best restaurant in the world.

In 2013 and 2015, they finally achieved the well-deserved reward of being considered the best restaurant in the world.

CNA Group, Cata Electrodomésticos SL and NODOR SA. send them their warmest congratulations for this richly deserved award and we trust we will continue to work very closely with them to achieve new and future successes.

We feel proud to continue working together with the Roca brothers on the “Cata & Can Roca” range of electrical appliances. We will continue our successful relationship to develop innovative, efficient products that improve and make it possible to raise the high standard of Spanish cuisine even further.

El Celler de Can Roca

El Celler is a freestyle restaurant, allowing liberty in the kitchen, and it is committed to the creative avant-garde without forgetting the generations of family forbears who were dedicated to providing people with food. It was founded by the brothers Joan and Josep Roca at the end of August 1986, in Girona: Joan in the kitchen and Josep in the dining room. Almost immediately, in 1987, Encarna Tirado, now Josep Roca’s wife, joined the project, in the dining room. And, in 1998, the younger brother, Jordi, joined El Celler’s kitchen.

Joan Roca, chef; Josep Roca, sommelier and head waiter, and Jordi Roca, pastry chef, have won the Spanish National Culinary Award and share an honorary doctorate from the University of Girona.

El Celler de Can Roca’s commitment to cooking and to the avant-garde, as well as its links with the academic sphere, have led it to advocate continuing, full dialogue with producers and scientists. It must be pointed out that the three brothers were students at Girona Catering College and they believe in teaching as a basis for the professionals of the future.
